Role: Online Education Committee Chair

Charge/Goals 

  1. Ensure compliance with accreditation requirements (HLC).
  2. Establish and review policy related to online education.
  3. Help promote online education across the institution.
  4. Evaluate procedures, standards and review process for hybrid and online courses.
  5. Review reports and make recommendations for online teaching and learning.
  6. Explore new and emerging programs and advancements in online/distance education and technology.
  7. Improve the online student experience by making recommendations for support, training, and resources.   

Pasco-Hernando State College

Role: E-Learning Committee Chair

The purpose of the E-Learning Committee is to formulate criteria for the development and implementation of e-learning initiatives and to do so in such a way as to promote technology enhanced learning. This committee has worked on several large projects for Pasco-Hernando State College including the transition from ANGEL to Canvas, the Manual for E-Learning at PHSC, the Super E-Student Initiative, and Online Proctoring Guidelines.

Canvas Implementation Plan

The implementation of Canvas at PHSC included creating a timeline, identifying courses to be converted, developing training, and providing adequate support.

Manual for E-Learning

The Manual for E-Learning at PHSC provides guidelines for instructors teaching and developing blended, hybrid, and online courses at PHSC.

Super E-Student Initiative

The E-Learning Committee formed a work group to address five questions related to success in distance education courses. The group worked together to create the Super E-Student handout, update the Guide to E-Learning at PHSC, and develop an E-Learning module in the PHSC mobile app.

Online Proctoring Guidelines

These guidelines were created by an ad hoc committee to provide guidance for the use of the College’s virtual proctoring service.
